We are developing a cloud-based audio streaming media application that will run through web browsers on PC/i-devices.

From further speaking with our target market, we discovered that a standalone device would make things a lot simpler for them – effectively a plug and play solution.

Would anyone on this forum have experience of building & flashing custom roms to android media players for similar purposes?

Ideally, on boot, the device would use the internet connection to send device ID/status information to our server and the server would then send the relevant stream based on this information and the users account preferences.
