Default Rooting, Easy to remove?

I am thinking of rooting my new Motorola Defy but am wondering if I have to ever send it back to Vodafone for repairs how easy is it to remove 'Root' is it as easy as the iPhone equivalent by 'Factory settings through iTunes' but via the device?

rooting modifies /System so factory resetting will not help you
most rooting apps should have unroot option

Basically, the steps to unroot are, flash an unroot zip through recovery, then run a stock ruu to flash everything back to stock.
