Default Vibrate Problem

I've been getting a problem with my dell streak, its happened about 3 times in the 3 weeks i've had the phone. I'll be taking the phone out of my pocket or taking it off charge, and my finger will trigger one of the buttons on the phones, this causes the phone to be stuck on vibrate.

I have to take the battery out, to stop it vibrating.

has any one else experienced this problem, and has anyone found a solution for this?

I have had this happen to me once before (almost a week of using it). It happened when I had just closed an app and pressed the home button quickly after and like you I had to take the battery out.

I hope there is a solution for this as I was hoping when it happened to me it was a once off thing, but apparently not.

I've had the streak since release day and this happened to me for the first time this morning. I woke the phone using the power button then hit the home button by mistake. I had to take the battery out to stop it. Im guessing its rare for it to happen but could be annoying if it occurs more frequently.

I wonder if you could use an app killer program to just 'kill' everything that it can kill (critical system apps keep on running) and maybe that would stop the vibrating. It would be quicker than pulling the battery, if it worked.

I wouldn't recommend an app killer program. Instead I'd maybe recommend asking in the XDA forum or other developer forum to find out what is happening. There may be logs left behind that can be troubleshot, or it may be possible to debug.

If you are familiar with irc, you can go to #android on freenode.net and ask there. Once I get mine, I will try to duplicate this.

Calling the Dell Streak an "Android Phone" is entering a grey area - with a massive 5-inch screen the device is practically a tablet but it hauls cellular connectivity that make "phone" a perfectly acceptable categorization. By ... Read More
