Is there a way to tell what version of streak you have like beta, factory unlocked and what not? I have one that has tethering and hotspot in it.

Don't know about version of streak.

For factory unlocked you can look at you base band. The last two digits indicate what service provider it is "locked" to, and "00" indicates you have on that is not locked "unlocked". (this is different from SIM locked)

The tethering and hotspot is dependent on the OS so if you have 2.2 you should have both. (unless you have OS version provided by some service providers where they have broken that feature).
