Newbie here, just got my Streak from Best Buy tonight. Running 1.6, no mods. Getting an error message when trying to charge (same error when trying to charge via AC or USB):

"Battery error
The battery temperature is abnormal; please stop charging"

Any ideas?

Mine did that once. I turned off the phone and turned it back on and never again did it. When its off pull the battery and wipe off connections and the turn it back on. Try that.

I have a different battery charging issue, but figured I would just add to this subject.

When you plug in the USB to a computer, it would pop-up a question, with 3 possible answers (data transfer w etc, data transfer and "charge phone only". It has a checkmark to not ask in the future. So after getting annoying pop-up for a week I checked it off.

Now, I realized that when it is connected in "Data transfer" mode, it doesn't charge the phone. I can only charge the phone now by plugging it into a wall socket. I have looked through all the setting and can't find it to "uncheck" it.

I have never had a device that doesn't charge when connected before, so this is new to me.

Ok, try this. Plug streak into pc wait till you can transfer things and pull down your status bar on the phone and what does it say? Try clicking on what it says for pc transfer.

It just has a item for USB transfer and it allows you to close it, but that is about it.

When I shut down the device and restarted it with the USB connected, it came up in "charging" status. It still didn't ask, but it is working now, not sure if it will charge the next time.
