Lost Data after 2.2 Please Help!!

Okay so my friend updated his Streak to 2.2 last night and now he can't get 3g to turn on. Has anyone else had this problem and has found a solution? I don't really know that much about the streak so I figured here would be the best place to come. Any help is appreciated.

Are you sure it isn't on and you just don't know it? I believe the 3g symbol might have changed to an H.

factory reset through recovery(option 1) and you should be good.

Is the phone unlocked and your using it with another carrier? You may have to put in the APN codes for your carrier manually to reenable 3g on the network.
