I love my streak but sometimes I'd like to use it in portrait mode only but the sensor is so poor the screen orientation is always changing and it takes ages waiting for the screen to load up everytime. Does anyone know if I can lock the screen in portrait if I get it rooted?? By lowering the sensitivity or something??

I don't think this is possible because i wanted to do the same thing and i checked the market apps and they can only lock the orientation to default which is landscape.

I guess there probably is a way via rooting/custom roms etc.

I found that changing the launcher from Dell Stage improves the performance greatly and when i turn my phone to portrait its loads much faster and is more acceptable.

I have played with all the launchers and I have settled on GO Launcher.

I'm too a proud Streak 5 user but this default lanscape orientation really pisses me off. I'm using the paid app Orientation Control (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.coinsoft.android.orientcontrol&feat ure=search_result) to solve this problem--mostly. I'm still looking for a way to change the orientation of the lock and PIN screens to portrait. Sigh!

Although that app doesn't require rooting, just rooted my Streak recently and made it more stable by removing all the bloatwares. Really worth doing.
