Hello,
I have just read that Dell have discontinued the Dell streak 5. I am currently running Android 2.2 I was hoping they would upgrade to Android 2.3. I am now wondering if to install a 3rd party rom to get Honeycomb etc. Currently what are my options and are any of the 3rd party offerings worth installing in regards to stability and program compatability etc at this point in time? Any help and advice appreciated

There isn't and probably never will be a Honeycomb rom for the Streak. There is a pretty stable Gingerbread rom you can get over at xda but it's still in beta. If you are a newbie to Android and flashing I wouldn't recommend you stray from stock until you have done A LOT of research and reading.... I say that because the very fact you posted this question tells us you didn't do any research to speak of

so for the people that have the dell streak 5.. what your saying is that there will be no more upgrades for the dell streak??

I would doubt it, although the contract with the government might help, but I think we have reached the end of the line. Not sure what new software would do though, my is running fine nothing like it was under 1.6
