Default DeFrost 6.1 & HTC_IME mod

Just updated to v6.1 and all seems well, apart from I can't seem to get the HTC_IME mod working?

Holding the symbols button brings up the Android keyboard menu, but when I tap Input method nothing happens. Someone over at xda said killing the android keyboard just made it default to the HTC one, but that didn't work, I was just left with no keyboard at all!

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

I've just updated to 6.1 after running a Nandroid update and wiping the data, and I have lost A2SD. I did notice that my phone hung a bit on "back up sd-ext" so I don't know if this was anythign to do with it... Anyone else have this problem?

I'm going to run a restore and see if I get A2SD back - albeit with Defrost 6.0k. If I don't I'll try and run the previous restore (the one I took before moving from LeeDrOid to Defrost) and then try going straight from LeeDrOid to 6.1.

For what it's worth, I've been running Nandroid restore whileI've been typing this, and my phone now seems to be stuck on"restoring sd-ext". I suspect this could be the problem...

Update: The restoration of the Nandroid backup to Defrost 6.0k has returned A2SD (or it's appearing on Quick System Info, so I presume it's back). The question is: do I try reflashing the ROM or wait for a few days to see if any updates to 6.1 come out?

i'm on 6.1 and its faster than before - i think. So is worth the update as far as im concerned.

Plus, i S-Off'ed yesterday, and i remember reading that you thought it was faster, Dan, but did say it was probably the placebo effect, and i swear my phone is a lot faster with the S-OFF.

BTW, i updated to DeFroST 6.1 last night, had a quadrant score of 1816 - with only overclocking to 1113, and interactive governor. I usually get 1900 on performance governor!! It made me happy!!

Now, if only i could update the Market.apk lol

No. That was someone else who said that. I can't see it making the Rom faster

Got rid of vork kernel cause I miss Havs battery life. 1113 with data2sd coming in at 2300-2400

No i cant see it making a difference either - as said, the placebo effect.

I'm waiting for the Data2SD to be implemented in the ROM. don't know weather or not to take the step in doing it my self.

As you said, its not very straight forward, and waiting for it to be more "stable" - if that makes sense...!?

Cheers, Matt

Yeah definitely a good idea to wait.

I love modding my phone and was already distressed that there was nothing else to do, so it came along with perfect timing.

There is an auto create script now I believe btw

Thanks bout the auto script, but with so many coming about, i think i will just wait, even longer, for the "proper and stable" script that everyone will start using.

Or even wait till the script is in a ROM as standard (like RCMixHD ROM, it has data2Ext and A2SD version), however, i dont know if RichardTrip will implement it in DeFroST - and i dont want to come away from DeFroST...

As i say will wait, Thanks, Matt

Again, not sure if it's my imagination, but after installing S-Off and fkashing 6.1, I'm getting much better Quadrant speeds. 1680 at one point, whereas before I was seeing 1490s or 1510s...

The only thing I can think of, is because Alpharev Hboot ignores the security flag in the Radio NVRAM, allowing security changes in the rom to be made, it is somehow blocking communication between the NVRAM security Flag and ROM, cauing the ROM to run faster (not awaiting a response from S-On)???

All speculation of course. I don't really understand how the ROM and secuirty flag interact.

I think it is imagination, lol... Although when i first installed DeFrost 6.1, i got a score of 1816 on quadrant... now running it i have normal scores of around 1600... so i think that it is just imagination.
Plus when i ran my quadrant score to get 1816, i had just done the fresh install and restored everything, rebooted and then ran it (so maybe all other apps hadnt been opened for first time and not slowing phone down) - this is, of course, all my own thought lol...
