Default swype stops working

I use swype. But every now and then (often enough that is becoming annoying) it'll stop letting me swype a word in. Instead when you do the swype gesture, the border around the keyboard flashes twice. You can still type in letters individually, but aren't able to swype. The current workaround is changing back to standard keyboard input, and then back to swype.

This has happened on every single ROM I've used for long enough (cyanogenmod 6.0 -> 6.1.1, oxygen rc4 -> rc6, stock htc sense 2.1 and 2.2)

Any ideas?

Sorry - I can't help, but just to say that I have had this same issue too. With the same workaround. Happened to me on stock and leedroid roms.

Hopefully its a bug that will get fixed..

I had the same issue (latest swype beta installed on my DHD ROM). Toggling input methods seemed to get it working again.
