Question Newbe - Flashing to RUU(WWE) to remove Al-Moazin

Sorry for the long post guys, but just want to let you know all the facts so that you can advice me. I bought my HTC Desire from Dubai recently. The phone is new, never rooted, unbranded. The details are as follows
Andriod version 2.2
Baseband version 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Kernel version 2.6.32.15-gd96fc0 htc-kernel@and18-2 # 1
Build number 2.32.415.3 cl283905 release-keys
Software number 2.32.415.3
Browser webkit 3.1
Only when I started using it, I got to know itís the Arabic version and there is a software called Al-Moazin which sends out a prayer call at various times of the day. (Very helpful to Muslims Iím sure, but Iím not a Muslim, wears down the bat and suddenly goes off during meetings L). Tried everything (forced stop Ė it auto restarts, software uninstallers, startup blockers etc) but could not uninstall it. Took it to the store I bought it from, they have no clue, recommended a factory reset, which did not work. Reading up on all the help you guys had given others in this forum, got to know that I need to get a stock RUU (WWE) since this software is bundled in the ROM. Downloaded RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00. 32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed, (I prefer to go Stock since Iím still new to this and not yet brave enough for custom ROMs) created a goldcard (to be safe) got as far as the Bootloader version Error (140). Based on your advice, I got to know that this due to my existing ROM build being 2.32 and Iím trying to flash 2.29 (lower version, could not find anything higher than that) hence wont workÖ
My question is, is there any other option there for me to get a stock RUU (WWE) froyo, or do I need to wait until Gingerbread gets released and you guys post a stock RUU for thatÖ or is there a safe way to get the source of this problem Al-Moazin uninstalled?
Thanks a lot for your help people, all the old posts helped a bunch.

This is the tricky Ara build. It's rootable now but believe even the downgrade tool doesn't work on it.

You could root and put a rooted stock Rom on.

From there you may even be able to use an RUU.

lol
This post isn't at all helpful but your post made me laugh.
I've been to Algeria and heard the 5am call to prayer through mosque PA systems and can imagine that going off in a meeting

@ SUroot,
Basically to use unrevoked and root it and then put the stock ROM… wont I still get the boot loader version issue again or once rooted it will by pass that?

In the meantime, was reading your guide on thread
[Guide] Easily Remove System apps on rooted Stock ROMS (updated 19/03/11)

Would that apply to this version? Since this software is hardly an essential component of the OS… ( at least that’s what I think). If you feel its too risky, then I guess I better wait for the official 2.3 and try flashing that huh? Dont want to brick the phone after 3 days of buying it. ;-)

@ Kibbster
talk about it mate!!!!
anyway after reading another thread managed to mute the prayer call alarm, but the app loads, screen still flashes and images are shown... so still consumes the bat i guess :-(. Seriously HTC should give these things as optional over the market unless its branded.

if you put a rooted stock rom on, you could then use teppic74's downgrade tool, but you may aswell stay on a custom rom. You can indeed remove system apps once rooted, but custom roms are usually more efficient. If you have too root anyway, may aswel exploit its advantages.
