Obviously cut and paste does not work. All those hours of frustration and quietly cursing you guys, " please accept my humble apologies ". That will teach me not to be type lazy in the future.

You have to be careful with cop/paste as it sometimes copies a space after the password, adding an additional character.

You need to be s-off to flash recovery. You dont have to burn it to cd, if youre willing to check out my vmware guide linked in my signature somewhere. It reads as if its for gparted but it will work with an .iso image

And you can find both username and password in the thread (last changed early December).

They are there for a reason.

In their uploaded state, we know they are safe. All we can do is get 2 or 3 of us to download them all and create them. Then when they all match, we can post them.

Those seem to match the ones I pm'd Dan a few mins ago (I didn't compare every digit, but the starts and ends were the same). And I checked my downloads against other copies of those files I already had, so I'm pretty confident the downloads were OK.

Thanks a lot guys. Ever so helpful!!!!
Just a thought. Please post whenever you guys buy a new phone. I guess like me most of the people will follow suit!!!!!
You all can actually crack a deal with the phone manufacturers too, as the sales of the phones you buy, will definitely lead to rise of sales of that brand!!!!!! :-P:-P:-P:-P:-P:-$:-$:-$:-$:-$

Cut and paste works just fine -- if you have ANY skill. Don't drag across the word -- double-click on the word. It's not a link so it won't "launch" but will highlight the word. Before right-clicking to copy to clipboard, examine the highlighted word. If you notice it has highlighted a space on the end, hold your [shift] key and tap your [left] arrow until only the word is highlighted!

Don't NOOB it, SKILLZ it!

Just tested it right now and it works. If you're typing it, copy paste it. If your copying it, type it

I've tried it in Firefox now in case it was IE that was denying access but no it's still the same. I've tried "save target as..." which got me tantalisingly close ... but still no banana. The links just 404 me.

Is it something I've said?

Looks like the server's down. DNS record still exists but there doesn't seem to be anything connected to the IP address.

Ah ok. Cheers.
Does anyone know of an alternative link for Blacked out Gmail?

I've trawled the net but the only legit places I can find require registration.

Jings! The server's down again.

I tried the Blacked Out Gmail.... it's ok but I'm having problems differentiating read mails from unread ones. I'll give it a couple more days to see how I feel but I think I might have to go back to the boring original.

Btw guys, I ran into a slight problem when flashing it.....

Installing from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:Missing file:
system/xbin/12ping
E:Verification failed

Installation aborted

After scratching my head for a bit I discovered an option to turn off verification in recovery mode Other>Toggle Signature Verify.
Just a quick heads up for any other noobs running into the same problem.

Can I have the Blacked Out Market one now please?

edited for bad spelling
