Default Benefits of flashing radio

I'm thinking of flashing the latest radio but I'm just wondering what differences people noticed between the 2?
I've got no problems with my current radio (gps, signal, wifi) its just in some areas I get no signal inside people's houses but a full one as soon as I step outside. I'm on 5.11.05.27 at the min.
Just wondering if people got a signal in areas they didn't before with the latest, so just a query really.

I'm a bit sceptical of major benefits. I've tried most of them, and while speed of GPS fix did improve over an early one I had (though that's variable enough I cannot even be sure that was due to the radio flash), the differences in reception have generally been at the limits of detection for me. I'm using the most recent largely because that was the last one I flashed, and it was as good as any other I'd used.

But some people do report more significant differences. There are a lot of different factors in this, and what works for one need not work for another (or vice-versa). So it might make a difference to you, though it's never done anything very dramatic for me.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Basically this in my eyes. I can stream Youtube videos and browse flash heavy sites with no issues. In a clear area I can get gps lock on in under 30 seconds. Phone signal is generally very strong and rarely cuts out. I also know a bad flash can result in a brick so it's kind of a pointless risk in my eyes.
But saying that, that's just for me! I know they're available for a reason and I know people have benefitted from doing this.

As far as I'm aware its not one you can fix, unlike the USB ones.

Hence why its a brick and there is no such thing as a USB brick.

Although if you have specialist equipment, you can fix it... But who has?!

Cheers guys I've never really felt the need to flash the radio as everything does work, I'm on vodafone so I generally get a full H signal most places, as was said it ain't broke so I'm not gonna bother messing with it. It was just a general enquiry if anyone had noticed vast improvements.

It's the name that's commonly used, but it's not a true brick.

As for fixing a radio brick, I'll bet a new phone is a lot cheaper than the kit needed, as well as a lot easier to get hold of.

it was coined a usb brick as when it first reared its ugly head people didnt know how to fix it.
since then its been fixed albeit a awkward one if you are not s-off

only true bricks ive seen are: bad radio flash, bad hboot flash, HW error, RUU Fail on Radio

I was curious why it was called a brick if you could fix it.
Ta for clearing that up.
