Default A suggestion for the rooting guide.

Hi,

I followed the guide through for rooting and all went more or less OK. But one problem - when using Revoked, I read the guide as connect phone and set debugging, then launch Revoked. This I did and Revoked went straight into rooting and did it faultlessly. I didn't get the chance to choose the Amon-Ra recovery.

I've tried to reverse this using adb shell and so on with no joy. But the phone works OK and I've upgraded the ROM which is all I really wanted, so no major problems.

Can I suggest a quick line to say launch Revoked, choose Amon-Ra then connect phone? Some of us are getting on and don't always spot the obvious!

It already does.

Erase size 40,000 must do this before connecting the desire:

  • In UnrEVOked, go to File > Custom recovery
  • Browse to your Amon-RA file (recovery-RA-desire-v2.0.1.img) and press "Open"
  • On the UnrEVOked main page, check the bottom line now says "Recovery image:custom" instead of "recovery image:ClockworkMod RFecovery"

I read that as must check Erase 4000 before connecting.

How about this :-

You must do this before connecting the desire:

Turn on the desire so it is running android normally.
Enable USB debugging (Settings > Applications > Development)
Run UnrEVOked (double click reflash_package.exe)

If you have Erase size 40,000 :- (or you want to use Amon-Ra)

In UnrEVOked, go to File > Custom recovery
Browse to your Amon-RA file (recovery-RA-desire-v2.0.1.img) and press "Open"
On the UnrEVOked main page, check the bottom line now says "Recovery image:custom" instead of "recovery image:ClockworkMod RFecovery"
Then connect the Desire.
