Did you update to the latest application? 2.2.2?
Although opening it now, just updated again.
i think it updated again because he accidently unlocked all features in the updater.
after he honoured my request for putting it on the sdcard, i bought his main app to support him. there was no difference between the two
edit: yep just checked the latest version 2.2.5 and its been removed
i support he wants to get people to buy his app so hes enabled it as a premium only feature even though its in beta testing. wierd
EDIT2: actually after it updated i restarted the app and the options are there.
it works

Read suroots post. You need the latest recovery update app to turn it on and themes have to be flashed through that and not the recovery itself

this 4ext been a nightmare just installed a theme , the unistalled it, now i cant do anything , when i press phone off recovery reboots, try install zip rebbot, check info reboot!!
4ext hasnt worked for me the last few times I've tried, I download the app, install the recovery reboot into recovery its then loads through the boot process and then just sits there with the 4ext logo, the notification bar works but that is it. I then reboot and it just sticks on the htc screen, any ideas how to fix this as I would like to use it? I'm using custom mtd btw

its something to do with ur cmtd i had similar problem, u need to set up cmtd on 4ext , so i think max wiped me boot and system and cache, (as long as u have a nandroid) then fastboot a 4ext .img. then advanced restore nand boot only , set up cmtd restore all nand.
i thik this is how it went, but post on 4ext thread see if madmaxx can help

aye, you have to remember, when you use custom MTD you need to patch the recovery to those sizes. if you dont then it cannot work with those constraints as it its not a hard flashed partition governed by hboot. its an overide.
i dont know if the recovery patcher part of the cmtd patch is compatible with 4ext

it works ok on my desire. just had issues getting it working wether this was my own issue or the recoverys, best to ask dev, i know hes working on getting it right for cmtd(its a pain in his ass cmtd but i love it)
Instructions for installing 4ext with custom MTDs:
So:
1. download the 4EXT Recovery Control or 4EXT
Recovery Updater.
2. Choose the version you want to install, but do
not hit "install", only press the download button.
The app will prepare the recovery config and make
sure everything is setup while you download the
recovery.
It will place the recovery into a zip file on your
sdcard.
Copy this file to your computer for later use to
flash the recovery.
3. Then boot into your previous recovery and
create a nandroid!
4. After that, format all partitions except your
sdcard (needed to be formatted are: /cache, /data
and /system)
5. After that is done, boot into bootloader and
unzip the recovery zip file you previously
downloaded and put on your computer.
6. Use fastboot flash recovery or AndroidFlasher
to flash 4EXT Recovery. (please tell me if you
don't have AndroidFlasher et.c.)
7. boot the recovery.
8. Enter the tools menu and select "format all
partitions except sdcard"
9. Reboot recovery
10. Flash your cmtd zip file with your settings
11. Reboot recovery
12. restore the nandroid
13. Finished
These instructions come straight from the dev maddmax.

yeah,so what i get is that you do the custom mtd patch in the same way you would cwm recovery.
the only difference is that you need to flash the recovery manually first as the app cannot work within cmtd constraints

yeah after flashing recovery ive installed app works fine now , these instructions need to be easily found for people on cmtd
Well, I've re-partitioned using GParted. For some reason it was a doddle considering the first time I did it it took me the best part of a day to fix the mess I created. Am I actually becoming competent?
Just downloaded this and thought I'd give it a try. Used it to flash update to Euroskank rom. Everything seems to have gone OK and the phone is working fine, but I've noticed an issue. In 4Ext it shows my SD Ext partition as FS - Ext4, Capacity 0mb, free 0mb. So I browsed to the Sd Ext partition using root explorer and it shows the partition as empty. So I took the SD card out of the phone, put it into a USB card reader and examined it under gparted. That shows Ext4 partition as 1GB, in use 50mb.
Anyone care to explain what is going on, and which one is correct?
