Just perusing XDA and saw this. Looks good, but is it stable to use on Desire? Is it compatible with CWM 2.5.0.7 back-ups - ie will it successfully restore my current backups if I need it to?
Will buy to support dev if it does the above, just curious what does full version offer over free updater?

after findign rmd faulty with the detection from my compadré SUroot i moved to this
its been pretty good so far and its a refreshing change for a recovery
i was extremely dubious as im not a fan of cwm recoveries but this seems good
I'm currently rooted with unrevoked but haven't s-offed yet.. but I plan to so this before I flash to mildwilds latest ROM and then use the ext4 partition instead of ext3 which I'm currently using.
I believe I can use Revolutionary (unzip and run) and follow prompts. Say no to installing their recovery.
a) Boot into fastboot mode (from off, volume-up and power or volume-down and power then cycle to fastboot option)
b) Connect phone to PC through USB. You should see "FASTBOOT USB" on your phones screen.
c) Open CMD (Start > Run > type "cmd" and press enter)
d) Type "fastboot flash recovery c:\your recovery file name" where c:\your recovery file name is the exact location and name of the recovery file you downloaded.
Then I can just flash mildwild and proceed as normal.
It is pretty easy (and s-off seems to be easier with revolutionary according to the folks that have used it) - although didn't feel quite right flashing a recovery from an app instead of via fastboot worked fine though
Like it so far, stable recovery and touch features brings it up to date, recognised my CWM 2.5.0.7 backups too - not flashed anything yet but mildwild oxygen rom looks interesting

I never thought i'd leave amon ra, but have been trying this for a fortnight now and am very impressed. No issues so far. Seems like a nice piece of kit.

All right, I've given in and tried it. Kinda sad to see CWM 2.5.0.7 go, as that was the oldest bit of software left on my phone
For some reason install from the app failed - was left with no usable recovery - but quickly fixed by extracting the img from the zip and fastboot flashing that (fastboot flashed CWM back so I could mount the card to do this without rebooting the phone). Just running my first nandroid with it now as a test.
Anyway, it's pretty cool. Nice little touches, e.g. I do like having a battery % in the corner of the screen - you should not be using recovery when it's too low anyway, but it's nice to be able to keep an eye on it

Yeah, you may be right!
But the ICS V2 theme does look cool (literally - lots of blue). I would make a joke about the recovery needing a screenshot option, but I'm afraid somebody will tell me it's there already!

i dont understand why he cant have the themes binding to sdcard
you can modify the theme.prop in sdcard and that works so i dont know why he cant make it reference folders on the sdcard as then when you wipe the theme remains
So flashed dGB at weekend, set it up, nandroid - then cooked UOT battery mod and flashed it. Boot ok but then couldn't get any apps to run, just faced with a black screen. Tried a reboot still same. Rebooted into recovery, restored dGB nandroid but on reboot sd card wouldn't mount (notification was something like checking for errors). Mount via recovery was ok.
Tried a reboot, same problem with sd card and phone completely unresponsive, so pulled battery, reboot to recovery and restored oxygen nandroid. Don't know what happened but it didn't restore properly - almost like artifacts from dGB were still present. Battery pull, boot recovery, full wipe this time, restored oxygen nandroid - this time all ok.
So I'm thinking dGB nandroid got corrupted somehow, maybe issues with android.secure causing sd card problem? Also is a full wipe needed in 4EXT before a restore - thought doing a restore this wasn't needed (never needed to do it using CWM)?

dunno, ive personally done quite a few restores from it and not had a problem. ive not really seen these issues on 4ext reported either.
We have however seen issues like this with roms and potential sdcard fails
also check your data partition size as one person had this behaviour with their device and they found that the data partition was filling up even with nothing in it. even after an RUU which suggested there maybe corrupt partition tables
Got 100/5/333 partitions - qsi has data showing 143 free which sounds about right
Hmm, might also be related to Ti - native move games to sd card before Ti backup, checked option for default restore location, but got internal storage warning on batch restore after flashing dGB. Ti stopped so had to manually move some games to sd then Ti restore for missing apps. Hence why thought might be android.secure problem with dGB nandroid?
Sd-card seems fine - can mount/read/write ok, no messages from Windows to reformat.
Still think dGB backup's got an issue. Do i play safe and fastboot flash partition tabs? Might re-flash 4EXT as well, then fresh oxygen install, nandroid then try dGB again. (Was going to post on xda thread but haven't got 10 posts yet so I'm not allowed - get better feedback on here anyway
Try using the reload theme in the tools because it would load for me when i only reboot recovery
The issue is on dGB, there is not enough room on system, so the themes don't work, although they appear to flash successfully. It's not until.you review the log that it becomes clear
I have downloaded the free 4EXTRecoveryUpdater.apk and installed it. Ran the app and clicked on 'Online install/upgrade' and selected v1.0.0.3 RC3 and it downloaded and installed.
However when i boot into recovery its still going into CWM 2.5.0.7.. Iv been back into the 4EXT app and it says that v1.0.0.3 RC3 is installed.
