How To: Root the HTC Desire (Unrevoked Method) (Updated 1.18.11) - TheUnlockrTheUnlockr

can someone in the know please look at this, im really timid about rooting the phone but really need to as im running out of space,

is there any downside to rooting,

If it really is this simple, I will try it......

Can somebody please give me some reassuring advice

Dont use that, use our guides. Have a look in the "All about rooting" sticky thread. You should first read the Rooting FAQ too.

No warranty. You have to return it to unrooted before you can get warranty repair.

Why wouldn't you be able to?

Rooting is basically like adding an administrator account in windows. It has nothing to do with your data, applications or SD card. Please read the rooting faq.

Well in this forum, we all agree on how best to achieve something. We then document it and put it in the sticky thread, so if you stick to the "all about rooting" thread, you shouldn't get any conflicting info.

By the way, it isn't that simple to solve your issue.

Just rooting your phone will not solve space issues. It will just allow you to use other tools to do that.
