Default Will you update to ICS?

Just wondering how many people who have the desire plan to run ICS? I know its still in beta but it looks like full HWA is reasonably close, so it shouldn't be too long before its reasonable stable and bug free. I'm running dGB atm which is nice, real smooth and clean so I'll only go to ICS if its going to be as good as dGB and have a large amount of space on /data.

So do you plan to update once ics is 'finished' or are you going to stick with what you've got?

Any comments appreciated.

Cheers

If the devs can get it stable and bug free - then it would be strange not to if you are the type to flash roms!

I'll be giving it a try at some point. Whether I'll stay with it depends on how I get on with it.

I personally think GB is as good as its going to get for the desire.

I've tried ics and while I like some aspects of the design, I'm not sure its worth what I feel to be a sacrifice of stability and performance.

My desire feels right. I'm looking forward to ics, but on my next device.

^ That.
Lets face it, I'd try it, can't imagine me keeping it though.

I too am looking forward to ICS but on the Desire, not so sure. Will wait for my upgrade in August, loving the look of the Sony Xperia.

I personally can't wait for it. That is if it it gets to my CDMA Desire.

I've just flashed this ICS for HTC Desire - Home , and it's surprisingly good. I was on Cyanogenmod before, and I think I'm gonna stay with ICS.

Yea, I tried the 3.10 build yesterday and its pretty dam good. As long as I get get ICS reasonably small and stripped down and stable then il run it because its obviously got more features than GB. It also always nice to have a change of ROMs every now and then, and I've still got my desire for another year so il be looking for the latest software.

I have dabbled with the ROM mentioned and it looks good, but it is still beta. You notice the difference when you come back to dGB. It is much faster and smoother. Hopefully ICS will get there [and be stripped down a bit] as it is good to have the latest stuff available. I don't think it will be too long until ICS comes out of being beta as there are almost weekly updates at the moment, but for me, at the moment nothing is as good as dGB.

Yeah I tried the latest sandvold with full hwa. Didn't get far with it before breaking things in boot manager. Did seem very slow though, compared to the reasonably quick dgb though

The latest Sanvold with HWA is actually more buggy than the earlier version. I tried it today, and it froze a couple times just when I was messing around with the settings and the browser was almost unusable. I guess it's better to wait for awhile..

I just rooted my girlfriends Nexus S 4g last night. I put on a latest ICS rom, today, she's running oxygen. Still to buggy even over there. But it was nice to FINALLY get to play around with ICS. Me I'm still loving MIUI.

I think ICS is a great upgrade but for single core devices Gingerbread is the best solution. I've tried AndroidMe ROM (ICS 4.03) on my Nexus S (I9020A) and GB wipes the floor with it in speed and battery life. Both are stable so that is not an issue.

To add, my Desire is running dGB so nicely that I sold my Nexus S to my sis-in-law.
