Default How much on sd-ext?

I recently messed up my Desire and had to start again. So now once again it is rooted and has a 1gb sd-ext and the ROM is the trusty GingerVillain 3.3. I am re-intalling apps on the phone memory but the proportion of the materal which is ending up on the sd card is much less than previously. About 55% on the sd card to 45% in internal memory, so I'm getting far less apps onto the phone than previously. A2sdgui says that apps are being installed to the sd card.

Any suggestions as what's changed and what needs to be changed?

If the a2sd is working then the apks will always go to ext unless you "move to sd". Data will remain in internal.

So the real variable is the dalvik cache - where is that? If you want that on sd, open a terminal emulator and type

su
a2sd cachesd

then see how your space looks after the phone reboots.
