Default Favourite Contacts Widget?

I have just rooted my HTC Desire and flashed a custom ROM. I used to have a favourite contacts widget (I think it was called People Widget) but it doesn't appear on my phone now. Is there any way to get it back?

Also, I am finding a few apps that are not compatible with my phone. They are for Android versions 4.x.x. I have looked at a few of the custom ROMs and thay are all version 2.x.x. Why is this?

You can't use Sense apps & widgets with non sense ROMs so you can't get your people widget back. There is however a fairly similar 3rd party widget called "Photo Contacts Widget" available from Google play.

There are a couple of 4+ roms but they I never tried them. You need an ext partition jus t to install the larger system. Gingerbread ROMs are probably better suited to the hardware.

Yes, that's a non-Sense Gingerbread ROM.

I believe that the same developer did produce a Sense ROM too. I never used it myself though (ironically I am using Sense on my HTC One, but I didn't use it on the Desire for very long at all).

Further to my last Android Pro Widgets will give replace most of he Desire's stock widgets. You might need to purchase the license to unlock what you need though.
