Since I made a Discussion thread, I thought its only fair I would make an accessory thread to go with it.
PLEASE NOTE: As you can appreciate, I can't scour every website known to man to find the cheapest accessories so if you find any that are not listed or the same that is cheaper, please list and it and i'll get it added. Thanks!
Doesn't appear to cover the screens on handsets and on a large screen touch screen handset that's a huge necessity. If you scratch or damage the screen it's ruined in terms of looks and possibly use.
Pouches for me every time, keeps them safe and keeps them clean.
I'm just waiting for a decent car holder to come out. My Desire's holder was great but now I have the Desire HD it doesn't fit I don't want a chunky, ugly and useless universal holder, so I guess I'll be waiting a while....

Is it? I have an SGS and Iphone 3g and have never had screen protector - no problems so far.
I would say so, yes.
The screen is a massively important part of a touch screen device. If you scratch it you'll reduce it's effectiveness and it also looks less attractive.
I just remember back to when I had an N97 and placed that in my pocket that also had my front door key in it. 20 minutes later I had a noticeable scratch on the handset's screen
Personally I like that brand new handset look that you get when you first open the box to your new device. The screen's shiny, the device is clean and it's not covered in finger prints. Keep the screen protected helps it stay that way.
I don't use a screen protector myself, but that's because I don't use a case for my handset. I use a sleeve which protects the screen as well as the handset. The bonus part is that it has a cleaner inside the sleeve so every time I place it in and remove it all the finger prints are removed and it looks new and shiny
Hmm I didn't get mine either, lost in the post I thought. I contacted them and they said they'd send out a new one... If the new one doesn't turn up I will let you know. Perhaps they overestimated with their availability date and are just playing for time?
Hmmm. Looks interesting but it does say "* Best replacement for the original battery with comparable standby and talk time.". Now if it was really 1500mAh compared to the standard 1200 would they not claim more?
I think I'd be wary of these type of batteries until/unless someone had tried them.
It looks to be a Chinese knock off and a lot of that stuff tends to be knocked together cheaply. They know you can't easily pursue them if it knackers your handset and it costs peanuts to make stuff like that so they get high profit.
It's fair enough with cases etc. but batteries can be a funny thing to be honest and I'd probably not risk a 3rd party battery without a decent brand behind it. If it fries your DHD your warranty is useless.
Bought it ... but still waiting. Said it had been despatched last weekend but not seen it yet. I'll give it until the start of next week then start complaining!
As for 'is it any good', I'll let you know but I guess we're the pathfinders from this respect - with so few people having the phone as yet.
Got this on the weekend, lovely case, fits a dream. However, there isn't a hole for the charger or headphones..unless that is, you put it in the case upside down. The little tab that pull up to access your phone is very cool though.

I think you are supposed to put it upside down (phone in)..but then I put the argument of how do you know of notifications to your phone?
The case that I'm using with my Desire HD is the one that was actually made for HD2, so called "HTC HD2 Pouch (HTC P/N PO S511)." HTC - Products - Accessory - PO S511
More info and review here: Original HTC HD2 Leather Flip Case - Dress up your device!
This case is (almost) a perfect case for the Desire HD too and it was listed as an optional accessorie inside a small leaflet that came with the phone. Nevertheless it is not a perfect fit. HD fits inside the case very tight, not a bad problem but the back of the case, where are the openings for camera lens and two LEDs, does not fit 100%. LEDs are hidden behind the back side of the case therefore you cannot use the Flashlight funtion etc. with this. But in any other way it's quite ok case. It keeps the phone slim enough and gives a decent protection.
Question: does anybody know if and when HTC are going to release a similar flip case that is designed from the ground up for the Desire HD?
Not released until the 3rd of December according to that page. It also appears to be a different design to the 400 which makes me think it may be more suited for the DHD being designed specially for it.
Looks better to me because this one doesn't do the car panel thing that the 400 does, so that suits my needs
