As it states read the effin manual, which ive read loads of times
Ive started the hack, inputted the code got to the main menu, pressed number 1, the process as started, after a while my screen on the phone goes black with a white htc sign on it, the process still runs util it gets to
INFOSIGNITURE CHECKING
It stays there and stays there and stays there. i rebooted my phone and started again, the same happened again, ive tried this 3 times and every time it stopshere. i even left it for 30 minutes but to no avail.
Ive run hack -ace out of the file, there is a hack-ace-xph?? what is this?
You'll only need to run the .sh file, I don't think you'll need to use the others.
I'm afraid I can't help much, but you can post in the xda thread, and if that doest work, there is a link to the devs irc channel in which you should get a quick answer. Link should be in the first post of that thread

You sure you have nothing else that should be un installed mate. Had a similar problem first time i tried, turned out i had left my Asus Transformer software on, removed it and it worked next time.

I used this last night and worked first time, it's the hack-ace command file, not the .sh or the xph file.
Also did you uninstall the htc software, not just close it?
Is USB debugging on?
Are you right clicking the file and running as admin, just in case?
no htc software was showing up on my pc, debugging was on, and yes ran with andmin rights
ive just thought i may have left avg on, so i will run again tonight with avg turned off, im just worried about keep trying it and it bricking my phone, every time ive tried ive had to pop the battery out to restsart my phone..
Also when i unplug my phone when it stalls it auto jumps through the remaining stages and says finished..

Ah, well you are right, but I used it on a Mac so it was the .sh for me. Totally forgot about the cmd.
I've not ran the CD for ages, but I think it's just a case of booting your PC with the CD (you'll need to burn it yourself) in the drive, but there should be instructions on how to install included in the download.

Make sure you have HTC drivers installed
USB Debugging ON
Run .sh as admin
The first time I used this I had same kind of problems, but then realised I did'nt have HTC drivers installed.
Hope this helps :-)

You've not actually installed a ROM yet, all you've done is root, S-OFF and install Clockwork Mod which gives you the ability to install custom ROMs.
There's a thread here which contains some info about what you might hear now you're rooted and a couple of guides to installing some of the more popular ROMs CM7 & RcMix.
Those apps you've mentioned, ROM Manager you need for downloading clockwork (you have it already), busybox is a root management tool, super user is an app which controls what other apps are allowed root access. Outfit7 appears to be a Talking Tom the Cat app and the rovioka is Angry Birds?? How they've ended up there, I don't know.

Firstly, get Titanium Backup... it's well worth paying for the full version, but the free version does pretty much everything you want.
Then... do you like the phones software the way it is or do you fancy a change? I highly recomend CyanogemMod 7 (CM7) as a ROM for your phone... it is vanilla android, so not like the Sense ROM that came on the phone... very customisable and ultra slick!
Let me know what you like the look of and I can see about writing an install guide for you (won't be tonight though, sorry).
You'll be happy to know though that the hard part (altough it's not so hard any more, given the Hack kit) is over... flashing ROM's is relatively straight forward!
The best thing is, now that you are rooted, you can make a complete backup of your phone as it currently is and then try different ROM's... if you don't like it, you can either restore the phone to how it was before, or try a different ROM!!
EDIT - only put CM7 in my post, so you know what people are referring to
CM7 is vanilla android (with little/no extras on top) - very customisable and VERY slick... it looks like Android on one of the Nexus phones that Google have released

Each person has their favourite... it really depends what you want from Android.
Do you like the HTC Sense experience of the stock ROM or do you fancy a change? I recomend CM7 - I've tried a few, but found that it best suits me... it's not a Sense ROM, but vanilla Android.
The joy of having rooted your phone is the ability to change when you feel like it! You've already said you're backing up - great... best to get in to good habits!!

No worries pal... like I said... you're rooted now, which was the "hard" part. Flshing ROM's is relatively straight forward and, if you're backing up already, then you can change to your hearts content without worrying!!
gotta love this forum as there always help there when u need, gonna start of with cm7 and see how i get on from there,
where else would you get the rom from, i got the cm7 from there web site

You can download direct to your phone from ROM Manager or get ROM files from websites - you need to ensure the MD5 checksum is correct if you get it from the web though. There is a huge list of ROMs on XDA's website too
nice one, using rom manager to hav a look, i like cm7 but there was couple things i wasnt sure on, dialler, contacts and gallery view, but not sure if thats cos im so used to the sense view on it, gonna hav little look at some the other rom and see from there

The Gallery view on CM7 is awesome! It took a while for me to get used to some of the differences, but once you get used to it, it's pretty hard to go back (I hated CM7 at first, but no can't really go back to Sense). The only thing I really miss is the camera, but there are alternatives.
I'd also recommend not using ROM Manager for your first ROM flash. It does everything for you (sounds like a good thing ), but it also means that you've no idea what to do if you get in a position whereby you can't boot the phone or you get a bootloop (if you flash stuff on a regular basis, this will happen). I'd say the first time you flash a ROM, do it manually so you get to grips with Clockwork a little. ROM Manager also won't wipe fully (which some ROMs recommend) and if you want a clean install, it's best to do a full wipe beforehand.
If you decide to go for CM7, there's a guide here.

Not at all, I just think it's best to do things manually. There's nothing wrong with ROM Manager, and most of the time it'll be fine and work with no issues (there have been reports of problems with the original Desire) but there's no harm in learning how to do things yourself.
ok ill give it a go me self, im giving the leedroid rom a go and quite like it, only problem i hav found is the wifi doesnt display the wifi signal unless you go in to wifi management, after further playing i found it a little slow

i went back to cm7 and more i play with it i like it, only trouble is my contacts arnt all there, only 33 off 203 for some reason, there not all backed up to google, i thought the phone did it automaticly
also if i use rom manager and download a rom, I.E cm7 and leedroid does it keep the rom files on the SD card as iv lost bout 3 gig and hav noticed i can flick between cm7 and my sense rom fairly quickly, if the sd card does hold the rom files which is the best way about perm deleting the one i dont want,
sorry for all the questions, bit of a noob to all this
I know that everytime you make a backup it takes up 1-1.5 gb of space, I had hardly any room left, so I moved some backups to my computer and deleted them off the phone. However that's not recommended if you want to restore them again in the near future

If they're not there, titanium might've backed them up. If not, your best bet would be to backup CM7, then go back to the backup you took of the stock ROM, import them to Google and then go back to CM7. There's a link to the CM7 install guide a few posts up (where I mention the gallery app). I think the install guide contains instructions to backing up your contacts to gmail. Once backed up, restore your CM7 backup.
The ROMs are on the SD Card, can't remember where but I'll have a look when I get home (unless someone posts before me).

A good app for flashing a new "splashscreen" and get rid of the 3 logo is "BootFlash"
Really easy to use, and you can have whatever image/photo you want.
