Are you running it yet?
Concerned it may not be stable enough for me.
Yes but I keep swapping between this and Absolution because like you say it isn't perfect but it's good enough to use as a daily driver. I've had it on for about 2 weeks and it's good for me and my wifi issues. Just give it a flash and see what you think.

[QUOTE=McCookie;4043618]I think ascension is better for me than Ice Cold Sandwich, however I wish ascension had the tv off effect when you lock your phone on IceColdSandwich.
You read my mind! May sound a bit silly, but its one of the things ilike most about all the different Roms.
Although its all academic now, dropped my phone yesterday, and now the wifi and volume rocker doesn't work .
Swapped from Ice Cold Sandwich to this the other day. This one seems more slick for sure and I like the UV and CPU tweaks that are built in as well as the OTA stuff. My only issue is with the battery. It comes with one of LC's BFS kernels, but there is a CFS version available too, which I haven't tried yet. Having said that I don't actually know what the difference between the two is.

It's all to do with how system resources are shared between apps. BFS kernels will focus more on whichever app is running on screen, which is good for intensive apps like games, but your phone wont multitask as well. It can get a little juddery when switching between apps. CFS kernels share the system resources a bit more evenly so multitasking is easier.
It's not really a massive difference, but CFS is usually my choice, anyway.

So I've been running a8 since yesterday. I switched to the CFS kernel as I mentioned above.
I'd definitely say it was running through my battery a little faster, or so it seems. It also feels, according to totally anecdotal, non-scientific testing, that IceColdSandwhich is a little faster. But on the plus side, I tried about a dozen camera shots with the built in app and they all went through fine, which was a pleasant surprise compared to ICS. I will probably switch back though.

Ascension doesn't come with lord clocks kernels does it ?
Hmm. For some reason I had real trouble restoring my apps with TB on A8. It kept getting stuck.
Mine restored with no problems

I was checking out the CFS kernel available in the OTA and it seems to last longer, I even turned on automatic brightness which drains battery faster right?
Also from my experience I have noticed ascension is the fastest ICS rom I have tried

Yeah, I guess it must do. I don't know how significant that extra drain is though - you might make up for it it by not ever having the screen any brighter than necessary.

No, no... just wondered if there were any bugs or if any issues had been resolved. Just checking, as I will add a link for the ROM in the ATR Guide Sticky that I did, that's all!!

Cheers for the info... will add it now!!
Yeah, it was quite stable, never encountered any worthwhile bugs even the camera worked .
But I'm trying the 4.0 sense atm.
Surprisingly well, even though I was expecting not a lot of change from sense 3.5. I think I am going to stick with this rom for a long time till something new pops up, everything has worked for me except the camera and unity games.
I think I mainly like this rom because it's a lite version of sense 4, so a whole lot of crap has been deleted.
