Several users have reported improved battery life on JellyTime R30.
Not sure about better battery life for me. I've gone through several ROMs and have the same app list/setup for all of them but haven't really noticed any difference. I have seen that ROMs based on JB seem to have a better battery life when the screen is off but if used there doesn't seem to be much difference.
That's not to say battery life is sh!te with these non-stock ROMs, in fact it's better than stock in just about all cases.
I was on CodeFireX but the lack of BT was a big drag back to JT.

Thought I could do without it but I'm home a lot of the time and always use a BT headset in the house (easier to write/make a coffee/etc etc when on the phone) and use a BT headunit in the car (for hands free use).
Still, all this practise at flashing ROMs and I'm up and running in just a few minutes these days. ... CFX ws nice though. Guess I'll be back once the BT is sorted as I couldn't find anything else wrong.
I've been using JellyTime since R21, upgrading at almost each version and have been impressed and use it as my daily driver.
In R29 however I lost GPS abilities and gained poor battery life, I’m a heavy user with data on all the time to listen to radio, read emails, surf the net, texting and occasional phone calls including Whatsapp.
In R29 I managed to get an average 6-hours of battery life, which was bad on top of the non exisitant GPS, occasional 3G, Bluetooth and hotspot connection loss… not to mention the usual bugs of headset not working.
After trying all the various GPS fixes and not finding a fix, I decided to flash R30 in the hope it would give me GPS access.
So now I have R30 since release and can report, headset is working except the mic mute and battery life is much improved, with heavy use as in R30 I’ve got up to 22-hours of battery life and connectivity seams to be improved.
However GPS still did not work… so after some more reading I decided to take the plunge and upgrade the Radio from 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_Mto 12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M. A few days on and the GPS is working like a charm, connects within seconds and also 3G so far has had no drop outs and everything seams to be connecting faster without any detrimental affect to battery life, which is still giving around 20-hours with heavy/medium use.
Used these instructions to flash a new Radio [click here].
The only issue left in JellyTime from what I can see is the mic mute.
Very impressed and highly recommended.
Jay

How about we go into the script writing business together? I help advise, you make voltage and governor tweaks for some ROM's and I do the others. It pays nothing. You get one thanks per 40-50 downloads. Basically it is a thankless job
Am out of reserved posts on XDA... maybe it is time to host them here.

Is there a way to use my Desire without a Sim? I wan't to start flashing on the Desire again, but don't want to remove my sim from my other phone everytime I wan't to use it.
Unless it's only with Sense? Then I guess I would only have to remove my Sim once to flash a non-sense ROM?

I think you can do it without a SIM card.

Yeah I flashed it. I couldn't use my old ROM without a Sim. The new 4.2 is pretty awesome. One thing I love about the root community is the fact that a two year old phone is gettong support far after the company dropped it.

and most interesting of all is that it works better than any other ROMs..I think that JB 4.2 is the best ROM for our's good old DHD..
