When I reset my HTC Desire HD to factory settings, my images were downloaded again to my phone from before the factory reset. Now, this isn't a problem for me at all, but the images were deleted earlier today and I was wondering where the images were pulled from after the factory reset?

Assuming there's a web storage of them, or SD storage, I presume I can retrieve the images from somewhere.

I think it is the preinstallation of the rom maybe??? Weird...

I hope it doesn't do that when we update the ROM, just because I shifted them to another folder as it came under "CAMERA Folder" and I am like, it isn't taken from the camera.. LOL

Well I factory reset everything on my phone, but when my phone rebooted I realised that my images were still there. It could be that they're stored (defeats the purpose of a factory reset IMO).

Anybody else have any idea?

If you download a file manager, i.e. ASTRO, you can actually see where they are kept. From memory it is in DCIM folder which is the default location for photos.. maybe when you reset it doesn't remove that folder as it is on the SD card.

By design a factory reset does not touch your SD card. Not sure what the default setting on your phone is but you can check in your camera settings where it is set to save at.
If they are being saved to SD card then its in dcim folder; but if they are being stored on phone then its in; emmc/dcim
