Cry Wifi issues. Connects fine, but no internet!

My HTC Desire HD will connect to my WiFi just fine, but when I try using it to load a web page or Foursquare, or anything on the internet... nothing! It just doesn't load it for a while and then says that there was a connection problem...
Other devices on my network use the WiFi but they work just fine, so what could be the cause of this?

Welcome to the forums.

Are you running 2.3.3? You can try assigning yourself a static IP, that might resolve. There's are a few issues with the WiFi in 2.3.3 and assigning yourself a static IP and turning off 3G whilst connected appear to resolve most of them. You can find instructions on how to do that here.

Yeah, I'm running 2.3.3 and turning off the 3G had it fixed for a little while, but the same problem has come up again! I'll try assigning a static IP and see if that works, but surely that would cause some problems when it comes to connecting to WiFi networks that aren't my own.

EDIT: I tried using a static IP, but it didn't fix the issue... I still connect to the WiFi network, but no internet!

It does unfortunately, you'd just need to check the Static IP setting off when you want to connect to another network, then on again when you go back home.

HTC have released a fix and are in the process of rolling it out to their handsets. Unfortunately, the fix can cause issues with GPS....
