Default HTC Desire HD Not Automatically Checking Emails

Hi all

For reason my HTC is not automatically checking for emails.

I have checked my settings under Accounts & Sync and I have Background Data ticked and Auto-sync ticked. Under the manage accounts i can see the email accounts and they have the sync mail ticked.

If i open up my emails it will check for them.

Can anyone advise how i can resolve this or advise if i am doing something worng.

Many thanks in advance.

Pokey

Hello, welcome to AF!

Are you using gmail or the email app? Also, do you know if the account is configured for POP3 or IMAP?

Have you gone into Mail > Settings > Send & Receive and checked the update schedules? There are peak and off peak times for receiving mail so they could be set to different times/days

I have checked the settings and I have my mail to be checked every 5 mins for peak and off peak. Peak time starts from 6am and peak finishes at.

Should I change the settings? If so what to ?

Thanks

My emails are still not automatically being checked and coming through. I still have to manually check them.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Thanks

Pokey

What accounts are they? Gmail or something else? What error do you get when you try to create them?

The accounts are IMAP. The error is get is user name or password are invalid. Authentication failed. I have checked all the details and they are correct. Not sure what else to do.
