AW: help
For me the Desire HD is not a light weight phone in the pocket
You might have a look at the HTC Sensation.
About the same dimensions than the HD, but lighter and a higher resolution display, better performance and ICS.
I would strongly suggest not to buy the galaxy s3 mini, I have heard nothing but bad things about it It's a shame as it could have been a great device.
As above, the sensation is a good choice, also the sensation XE is really good too. You could probably get one for just slightly more than the DHD I reckon.
I still have a soft spot for my old DHD as it is a great phone Its getting on a bit now but if you don't want to play the latest games or do anything processor intensive then it's a good one to go for
thanks guys just looking at it now on utube its £60 more than the hd but if its newer and better then ill go for it just seen it for £194 on major deal so its even cheaper there never seen that site before though so im not sure about it but looks like my minds made up cheers guys.

Re: help
The desire hd is in my mind still a great phone. I've only recently moved on from the DHD after dropping it and breaking the front glass/digitizer. But despite that I managed to fix it myself and now it's been passed onto the wife and she loves it. It's just a shame it never got the ICS update that it should have got.

Between that two I would probably get the S3 mini.
1. You have an official Android 4.x ROM. Officially, the DHD is stuck at Android 2.3.5.
2. The the 5 MP camera of the S3 mini is probably is as good as the 8 MP on the DHD. I have not tried the S3's camera, but the 5 MP on the Samsung built Galaxy Nexus does a better job overall than the 8 MP on the DHD, which can produce some great shots and some really bad ones.
3. Battery wise, the S3 mini has a larger battery and probably better battery life.
Me I love my DHD. It is well built and now runs a custom ROM and overclocked. If I were buying something now, I would probably opt for a more current model.
Actually I would look at the Galaxy S II. Might not cost all that much more and has Android 4.1.

im in 2 minds what to do now after reading about so many problems with the dhd and the sensations shuting down problems and a few other things, i know it wont be happening to every one but its making me think htc is not the best phone to go for now so now im just confused lol.
You could also look into the HTC One X or the Nexus 4? (Depending on price obviously.)
yes ive looked at those and would like the one x but i think i wanna spend about £250 even though i was thinking of getting the s3 for £400 lol. i really want the dhd or sensation or s3 mini all in that price range well the sensation has just gone from £250 to £285 overnight on amazon.
The nexus 4 would be a good one to get, but it seems impossible to actually get hold of one for Googles asking price its been sold out for a good month there are (unfounded) rumours that they've stopped making them altogether now

Was doing some price checking at Amazon. The Galaxy S II and Sensation are both fairly expensive making getting a Nexus 4 a better idea, even if you have to wait a bit.

Re: help
As said if that's the amount you want to spend then the Nexus 4 would make sense. There are rumours going around saying LG have stopped making the N4, but regarding to another site a spokesman said that's all it is rumours. They admit there had been production problems but they had been sorted. We'll see!

the nexus is
£489 and the s2 is £259 and the sensation is £289 i like the nexus but just to expensive. i think ill see if the sensation comes back down to £250, id get the s2 but it looks to much like the iphone.

I wouldn't pay £489 for a Nexus when its £279 16gb from Google Play. I know it's not in stock but it may just be worth the wait. You can try AV Forums for a Nexus 4. They sell them on there for the RRP, its against forum rules to profit from them. So if they have bought it via Google Play they can only sell it for £239 or £279. Of course if they buy it from CPW etc then it will be more but again can only sell at RRP.

Re: help
Yes pity about no sd card slot but there are loads of cloud alternatives. I think Box are giving Nexus 4 users 50gb of space as was jottacloud (something like that). There's also firm favourite, Dropbox. Music wise Google let you store up to 20,000 tracks free. Bonus is if you buy music through them it doesn't count towards above number above.

well guys after a long wait i took the plunge today and after a lot of utubing i went in the 02 store for the htc 0ne s but its discontinued so i ended up with a phone ive never even bothered looking up before the sony xperia T because of its size and 13 meg px camera.
ive only had a short play with it tonight and it seems good, cost £329 so i just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your feedback and sugestions...hope i made a good choice.
The Xperia T is supposed to be really good, I've seen a lot of positive reviews for it. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it
ive been playing with it all day today took some great vids in full hd and really good pics batery life is beter than what i expected only at %75 at the end of the night.
its not as good looking as the htc imo but its really fast, great screen and hey it was on james bond lol im happy with it so far shame about the no battery replaecement though.
