Hi guys,

Have searched all over trying to find a solution, but it seems my problem is a bit of a unique one. My phone's USB port has stopped working (isn't the first time it has happened, but apparently it was 'repaired' last time I took it back to the shop) but I need to revert back to stock before I take it in to get fixed.

I had CM9 installed, which was working fine. Then the phone stopped charging (it has done this three times previously), so I panicked and tried to restore my stock backup through clockworkmod before the battery ran out. I now realise that this probably wasn't the right way to go about it.

Here are my bootloader details:

Can anyone help me to flash my stock Telstra RUU using just the SD card? Or is this impossible to do without using fastboot/adb?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer, I'm just about ready to microwave this bastard...

Just as a follow-up, I reflashed the superuser zip and CM9 zip from recovery. Now I am back to working CM9, which is handy. Still no ability to charge battery, but I might just buy a charger off ebay and not even bother getting it "fixed" by Telstra again.

Now I assume you don't have a backup (not that I think it will work though, lib partition thing)

So you need to download your phones RUU, make sure you use the right one.

Then extract the rom.zip from the RUU and rename it to PG88IMG.zip (not PG88IMG.zip.zip or pg88img). You will find how to if you search.

now using fastboot relock your bootloader. I think its "fastboot oem lock"

Now copy the PG88IMG.zip to your SDcard root and install it in your bootloader (it will automatically detect the file)

If you need help choosing the right RUU please run these two commands in fastboot and post the results.
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar version-main

Thanks for taking the time to reply mate. Unfortunately I can't use fastboot as my phone's USB connection is completely non-functioning, it won't even charge through AC. That's what makes this such a frustrating problem to have. I am in possession of the correct RUU.

I did try extracting the rom and running it as PG88IMG.zip in hboot, it loaded but then said 'bad install' or something like that. I might have to try it again so I can get the exact error message for you.

That's bad bad bad bad.... its HIGH (most likely) chance you won't be able to do anything about it.

The RUU most likely is not installing because the bootloader is unlocked (error 171 I think) however knowing the exact error is requred.

Also try the RUU that matched your phone when you unlocked.
