Default How to install Ice Cream Sandwich RUU on HTC Desire S?

I have an HTC Desire S and I want to download the official ICS update but I don't know how to get it. I downloaded the RUU off the HTCdev website but then I don't know what to do after that. Can someone just give me a clear cut way in how to install it please? Do I have to root or unlock bootloader? Thanks.

Hello and welcome DanAmjad - thanks for joining!!

I am not familiar with your phone, but have moved your thread to the Desire S sub-forum, so that other users of the same phone can offer advice and help

I can tell you that an RUU would be an exe file that you run from your PC with your phone plugged in... there should be a couple of steps to it - sort of "click next" until it finishes. It would have flashed stock firmware on to your phone.
