Default Calendar - edit or delete one event of a recurring series

I really need the ability to edit/delete one event in a recurring series, and i'm close to figuring out how to do it, but i'm not quite there yet.

Sometimes editing a recurring event shows "Change only this event", "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events" options, but other times the only options are "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events".

Does anyone know what you have to do to get the "Change only this event" option when editing a recurring event?

Thanks!

I think i've sussed it... use your gmail calendar when creating a recurring event, synch your phone calendar with gmail, and then the "only this event" option becomes available when editing/deleting one of a recurring series.

Can anyone else confirm that this is indeed the way to enable the editing/deleting of a single event in a recurring series? If you can i'll add it to the 'Tips & Tricks' thread!

Would there be a solution for those of us who don't use gmail and only sync with Outlook?? Page 69 and 70 of the manual says you should have an option to delete "Only this Event"???????

All that options appear if you edit/delete a recurring appointment.
If the appointment happen only once that options doesn´t appear.

It is a recurring appointment that was created in Outlook and sync'ed to the Evo that I am trying to edit or delete on the Evo. I'm trying to delete (or edit) only one of the recurring appointments on the Evo and the option to delete "Only this Event" doesn't appear. The local Sprint store wasn't able to help either! Help!!

I have been able to delete single occurrences of a series (not sure why you don't see the option), but I wouldn't recommend it. A lot of people, including me, have then had a problem syncing that is difficult to unravel. See here:

"Client/Server conversion error" ruining my Desire experience

I managed to cure it by deleting the whole series and starting again, but I won't be deleting a single occurrence on my Desire again, way too much trouble

[I think i've sussed it...]

I can't believe this is the only post on this I can find anywhere - it's such a basic problem. Anyway, your solution works. Thanks
