Hey there!

Newbie Android user, having a problem using different ringtones for each contact. Everytime a person calls, it uses the default ringtone for them. I've set up a few of my contacts with different ringtones, and i'm pretty sure I ain't done it wrong (People>Contact Name>Ringtone>xxxx)

For some reason whenever someone calls me, it always plays the default tune!

Any ideas? Would be much appreciated.

Are you using the ".nomedia" addition to the ringtones folder? I think this makes the ringer go back to default but you can still search for in My Files.

1. Make sure your ringtones are under 300kb so they don't show up in Music Player
2. Delete the ".nomedia" file from the ringtones folder
3. Enjoy

the .nomedia isnt in my ringtones folder, and it still doesnt work?

used the inbuilt ringtone trimmer to trim files, yet the phone still doesn't seem to want to play the personal ringtones i set? completely baffled

UPDATE! Hard reset the phone, and the contact ringtones started working. installed all my backed up apps again, and they stopped. seems like it's one of the load of app's i've got :/
