Default 2.2 is a disaster for me, what can i do?

hi All

Sorry for starting a new thread on this but fairly unique topic i think.

Since i got 2.2 my phone has really let me down...

Exchange email sync very unreliable
Screen wont come back on at end of bluetooth hands free calls
Have to press home key and back key twice
Gallery thumbnails very slow

I have a carphone warehouse unlocked Desire on Vodafone work provided sim card.

I would go back to 2.1 if possible, can i do this easily?

Thanks

Jono

Did you install the official update? It may be worth doing a factory reset to see if it fixes any of the problems you have.

If you have an AMOLED screen you can downgrade to 2.1.

I had to do a hard reset after upgrading. Still can't get 3g at work in certain places though. I could before 2.2, strangely!

Thanks for the replies.

I did do a factory reset not so long after the upgrade and it made no difference to these problems.

I believe I have an AMOLED screen so can you elaborate on how I can go back to 2.1? In all truthfullness 2.2 isn't giving me huge benefits in 95% of the reasons i use my phone so i wouldn't be sad to go back.

Thanks in advance

Jono

If you're certain you have an AMOLED screen, follow this thread to downgrade to Android 2.1:

android-tutorials.org How to downgrade HTC Desire from HBOOT 0.92 to HBOOT

You must follow all the steps. You won't need a goldcard for an unbranded phone.
