SMS' not being received!
Hi all. here is a concern of mine, please provide feedback if anyone has any solutions for me.
from the begining…
I have had many occasions where i havnt received sms’ from friends. I have a HTC desire with Telstra and i have attempted to resolve the issue starting with the provider.
i turned the phone off and on, replaced the sim card through the provider, attempted to send myself sms’ to which i received them straight away. I escalated the issue to the level 2 tech support team whereby they reset the network settings on the network side and then followed the above steps again. They came to the conclusion that it was a handset issue.
They transferred me to a HTC department whereby i spoke to someone about this issue, and they asked me my initiative to resolving the issue.
On top of my encounter with Telstra, i have reset the phone to its original settings, updated the firm wear to the latest (1.25xxxxx) aka the Telstra ROM, synced the phone to the pc too…
To continue with the HTC department conversation, he had said to me that if i have done all the above, its a Telstra network issue!
I never mentioned to either department that i actually work for Telstra because i assuemed they would treat me like an idiot, so im aware of all the procedures both the company and manufacturer take when dealing with this type of issue, they really handball around until the consumer gives up… In this case my final resort was this forum, to which i sadly am trying the uninstall of chompsms even tho the lofic behind how these sms apps work would in my view make no difference to the phone not reveiving a message, but ill try anyway (in addition, i also did all the above with handcent)....
Ill see how this goes… Would anyone believe that the phone itself has the rare issue of going into a type of black state where it turns the network off intermittently? i really have no clue what to do, im hoping that android 2.2 fixes this, or i may have to try n get HTC repaired even tho they will do all the above anyway…
its all a long shot.
cheers people.
