Default Using DHD As A LAN Hub

I own a Desire HD (and I'm quite happy with it), and lately I've been curious whether it's capable as acting as a wireless hub for a local area network.

Specifically, my friend has a laptop and I have a desktop. Is it possible to plug my phone into my computer, then have his laptop connect via the Wi-Fi antenna in the phone?

It can yes, but be careful as it uses the 3G connection to connect to the net, not the WiFi one.

I've used it a few times since they've taken the wireless router away at work. I turn on the hotspot feature, have me and my mate connect to it and we can play Co-op Left For Dead (or any other game if we select local area network in game).
