Default Facebook for Android crashing

Last couple of weeks FB for Android keeps crashing on me, generally when I try and do anything other than read my news feed, like going to Profile / Status or trying to check in Places.

Error message is "Sorry! The application Facebook (process com.facebook.katana has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".

I've tried clearing the app caches and data, uninstalled the appand reinstalled, rebooted, etc. to no avail.

Any ideas, please?

Hello there Rushey... I've had similar problems to you (although not in a while). I got so hacked off with the Facebook app (which, in my opinion, is rubbish) that I just started using the facebook mobile site. You can put a shortcut on your home screen that would take you to facebook in the same way that the app does.

I know that's not really a fix for the app, but at least you can get on facebook!
