Default microSD card isn't detected by an HTC Desire, works in other devices

Hi,

I bought a SanDisk Class 4 16GB to use with an HTC Desire. When I put it in and turned the phone on the card wasn't detected, phone says "insert an SD card for mounting". The card works fine with an Asus Transformer TF101 and a Nokia E71. I formatted the card in the Nokia E71 and on the PC but the result was the same, card would work fine in the Nokia and the Transformer but wouldn't be recognised in the HTC.

When I connect the Desire to my PC using a cable there is no option for the phone to be used as a mass storage device but only for charging and tethering.

Has anyone had such a problem?

M.
