is rooting blocked with the gingerbread update?

Is the rooting blocked with the Gingerbread update?
I've seen people having ttexting issues and whatnot.

I'm just wondering if this update is really worth it and if I update it will the bugs get fixed and I'll get that update or am I stuck with a buggy version?
Also heard they took tehtering away, this true?

I have had my update notification for 3 weeks now but idk if I should do it.

I'm happy with Froyo but I am curious about Gingerbread but I don't want any issues....

In general, most HTC devices are more difficult to root on Gingerbread.

I've had a look on XDA and there is a way to downgrade again should you be unhappy with GB.

Is there a log for bug fixes and known issues with the update?

Hehe, I knew new members were unable to post links, I didn't realise that included quoted links to. :rollseyes:

From what I've seen a lot of the issues with Gingerbread span a few HTC devices, the WiFi and SMS issues apparent on the Desire HD, were experienced by some Wildfire S users too. I'm not sure exactly what issues there were with GB on the DZ.

When I get home from work, I'll see if I can find any info for you.
