Hey guys, I'm new to android development and I hope to begin coding up simple projects soon, and i have a question about image processing...

So let's say I have a full size picture display, would I be able to take certain portions of that image, and turn it into a button of some sort? So when the user pushes the area within that picture that I designate as a button, various actions can occur (such as a sound playing?) and a small bit of animation where the button pushed can zoom onto the screen and fade out...

if you guys can give me any tips or something to look up that would be better explain what I'm trying to do, I would greatly appreciate it..thanks
