Default Is it possible to replace the native shared library?

I would like to extend the functionality of one of the shared native libraries called from within the android.jar code. How can I rebuild the affected shared libraries such that the android code can utilize my modifications?

From what I can guess from the lack of details in your posts, I think what you're wanting to do is change what would be in /System on an actual device. The files in this area are in the ROM. An app is not going to be able to change these files. Changing these files would require patching and re-flashing the ROM.
