Angry Eclipse doesn't offer to add import or show functions

Somehow I've screwed up my Eclipse installation. Used to be if I added a new instance of an Android object (say a TextView) and I right clicked on the error, it would offer to add the import. Also if I had an Android object and typed it followed by a period, it would show me all the allowed functions. Now it doesn't do either, just shows me java info. Don't know what I did, since this used to work. I updated everything, but still no joy. Can anyone help me get this back to the way it was?

Thanks,

Dan

Try restoring defaults to:
Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assistant
Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assistant > Advanced.

I restored Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assistant to the defaults (no help) but there wasn't an Advanced button on that tab. Is it somewhere else?

Thanks,

Dan

Never mind, I found advanced. Setting it to defaults didn't help either.

Any other ideas?

If you create a new workspace, does it work?

Creating a new project doesn't help, it doesn't show the functions in the new project either.

This is really making me crazy. I'm thinking I'm either going to have to switch to a different environment, or completely uninstall everything and reinstall it!

Grrrr,

Dan

Well I've had similar problems, if I added a button or something it occasionally only showed java.. as it already imported it so great, typing periods and nothing happens, restarting eclipse fixed this for me and finally have you tried simply hovering over textview etc to import them, that's all I do I've never right clicked as it did nothing but bring up normal text options
