Default Galaxy Ace S5830 vs Ace 2 I8160

I am in a quandary. My wife is due an upgrade and typically for her she is leaving me to make the decision.

She currently has an Xperia X8 - so really does need to move on.

She is not a heavy user of anything, looking max 100 mins / texts on average and about 50MB of data (but not including Wifi though).

She does not appreciate technology either, but wants another Android phone due to being able to see my Work Diary as I update it through Google Calendars.

I am going to get the SIII for myself, and have narrowed the field to the Ace and the Ace 2. I did consider the HTC Desire C, but the battery life put me off on that, even though it has ICS.

The Ace 2 may get ICS, but it is very doubtful that the Ace will.

The specs of the Ace 2 are also much better, but is it worth an extra 69 + 4/month for 2 years (96) over the Ace?
