Both ones a phone ones a tablet you cant really compare the 2.
End of discussion really but if your talking about performance Nexus 4 by a bit

Uh, there's really no point comparing. As said before, one is a phone and the other is a tablet. If you need a phone, buy a phone. If you need a tablet, but a tablet.

Get the Nexus 4. Nexus 4 uses much newer technology (new quad core S4 Pro), whereas Nexus 7 uses old technology (old Tegra 3).

Unless you need a tablet. Doesn't matter how newer or how much better a Nexus 4 is if you need a tablet not a phone.
