Default Best Tablet for around $150USD

Hi, I got a Curtis Klü for Christmas, and after finding a genuine defect and the general issues of a $70 tablet, (you can see my yammering about it here Several Questions ,) I'm looking into an upgrade.

My price range after getting some gift cards from Best Buy is about $150. An absolute max of $200 plus tax.

I primarily want to use it for reading, web browsing, instant messaging, possibly videos, and possibly a perturbed foul or two. So nothing heavily taxing. It must have Google Play without having to do any BS. Again, A Klü thing.

The main thing I want it to do is to have a wifi reciver that can pick up a b/g/n signal broadcast 25 feet through two walls...Something the Klü cannot do. That's where I do most of my computer stuff.

I have friends leaning me toward a Kindle Fire, one using it factory style, the other modified to also act as a normal tablet. This interests me, but I'd rather not do something that would void my warranty to get it how I want it.

So what are your suggestions, and why?

Thanks for ally our help, this is a great site.

Welcome to the forums, Lord Burn!
Looks like you HAVE to buy it from Best Buy?
Unfortunately, I don't believe they carry the Nexus 7.
Haven't seen much in the way of development for the Nook HD ($200) as there was for the Nook Color. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is also $200 and a solid option.

Yeah, Best Buy is the only way I'm getting that kind of money for it sadly. The Galaxy 7 is looking like the potential winner. They also had a Levono on the site that looked decent, but I don't know near as much about tablets as I do computers. :\

I bought the Lenovo around Christmas time and I thought it was the best tablet for $150. It was much better quality than any of the other cheap tablets I have used and I didn't have many problems with it.

The two that I saw that are under $200 are the Acer Iconia A110 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

Out of the two, the Galaxy Tab would be my choice.
