What are your initial impressions? Do you think you'll drop your EVOLTE for it?

While I do like the phone a lot, I feel like I'm giving up more than I am gaining if I get it. I love my kickstand, microsd slot, and Sense 4.

I agree with you ...I'm sticking with what I have. I'll wait for the next evo.

I'm very impressed by it. Love the speaker placement.

I don't have an upgrade til next year, so I'm excited to see whats next

The speaker placement is genius, and something that I've always wanted in a phone, but there are so many compromises that have to made if I get it. I'm also quite saddened that this is probably the end of the EVO name .

Not to mention the One is thicker and heavier than the EVOLTE. I know it's not by huge margins, but I was really expecting HTC to make cutbacks in those areas.

The evo lte is thinner than i care for. HTC seems to be the only manufacturer left trying to produce a razor. Most users would prefer a larger battery than a paper thin phone

I always love to have the newest phones I find interesting. And frankly, I find the One X interestingly interesting.

I am eligible for an upgrade in August of this year. I bought my EVO 4G LTE off EBay - so... I'll see what happens then.

I like a lot of things about this phone, and then ...there's also a few things that I don't like. But hey, which device you ever have or seen that you don't like something about -- heh!

I'm sure after having it for a few days, you'll eventually find that it isn't that bad to how you first thought.

HTC is known to build some great devices ... And the One X is no different.

It's 8g heavier than my HTC Desire (3.7 inch screen, plastic body). And if you make it too light people complain about it feeling flimsy, which HTC surely don't want.

As for thickness, that's the maximum they quote, and it tapers to 4mm at the edges. It's pretty thin! But I expect it will feel better to hold than a device that's 8mm all the way to the edge (Xperia Z). I'd accept slightly thicker to get more battery, but wouldn't really want it thinner.

It seems that HTC's recent marketing strat phases out all the carrier specific flagships in lieu of the HTC One. Does this sadden anyone else as much as it does me? I've been following the EVO line since the 4G.

I'll be sad to see the Evo go, particularly because they will probably eliminate the kickstand. However, I am happy that this means wider adoption by makers of third-party components. Granted, there's really nothing that hasn't been made for the Evo, but at least we won't have to wait as long for certain things next time.

I love everything about it...but the one killer for me is no sd card slot. So if you break your phone...you lose all your vids, pics, and music.

Sure there are cloud services everywhere now...but I'm not trying to backup every picture or video I take to a cloud service.

Or you could just back it up to a pc. You should be doing that anyway. What happens when your sd card fails?

I do backup everything occasionally. But personally, I've never had a memory card fail. Hands down there are more broken phones to failed sd cards. Im really surprised they chose to go that route.

They are making a case with a kickstand instead (plus a flip case that folds round to do the same job).
