I have this phone (GSMART G1345) since Sep2011 and I am satisfied with it. (except at the beginning 3G connection issue, but finally solved with software update)
It has 320x480 resolution.
I recommend this phone if u wanna buy a dual sim "not-a-chinese-noname" mobile
Sadly there is a very simple reason behind this: money.
I guess pressure comes from two parts:
- telephon companies, if dual sims phones get a large diffusion, then many users will save money
- the hardware manufacter itself. If you have two sims, you are likely to buy two phones...
Look, in italy for example there are more sims than people, you can image the business behind..
:/
I do not agree. What the price is doesn't matter. I would gladly pay $ 1500 for such a top model phone with dual sim for europe. And I now a lot of people how would do that. So the manufacter would get the same mony anyway.
Anyway. My ZTE U960 should come on next week. And I would come with a review.
rozostřené pixely displeje způsobují méně kvalitní zobrazení
blurred pixels (see image from link) cause worse quality of displaying
Detail about display is here:
Displej mohl být lepší
Jde o klasický obyčejný TFT panel s kapacitní dotykovou vrstvou. Krycí sklo je obyčejné, Gorilla Glass to není. Při bližším pohledu na displej mě však zaujalo jeho zpracování, spíše ale v záporném slova smyslu. Hlavně na jednolitých bílých plochách jsem si povšimnul, že obraz není úplně čistý, je jakoby by zaprášený.
It is common TFT display with capacitive touch layer. Cover glass is usual, not like gorilla glass. When looking closely at display I was taken with fabricating, in negative meaning. Mainly on monolithic white areas i noticed that the image is not fully clean, sort of dusty..
I used my digital microscope (magnification 250x) and i saw, that in every RGB component of every pixel is slightly blurred. Looking at common TFT displays you can see this RGB component focused, for gsmart is noticably blurred.
biibuu , i bought a "unlocked" version of XT532, the sellers wrote "fully support to Google Android Market and Google Services." I read are differences betweeen customized XT532 for China market and the version for the rest of the world. Hope it will be so, but some people who bought other smartphone by this seller told me he is very affordable.
Can you tell me if is good antenna signal? And how fast is the second sim reconnection after call? Audio quality in conversation? Wifi ok?
Thanks
For the XT532, The antenna signal is good. Second sim reconnection is quite fast, usually without me noticing the wait. Audio quality and WIFI all ok. another drawback is that it doesn't support flash, even with the flash player installed.

While using the data connection on SIM1 3G/HSDPA does the second SIM2 remain active/reachable for incoming calls?

Thnx
Some websites describe the XT532 specifications as follows:
"This Motorola Mobile Phone supports 2 SIM one active mode and yet another in standby mode. Both 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 – SIM 1 & SIM 2 and 3G HSDPA 850 / 2100 – SIM 1 GSM network it supports."
From this sentence I conclude SIM2 is still standby while SIM1 is active (or the other way around). But since this information can be considered unreliable, input from XT532 users is required before final conclusion.
Samsung Galaxy Y DUOS and Samsung Galaxy Y Pro DUOS
Hello!
Have you gathered any additional information regarding the release of the Galaxy Y Duos and Galaxy Y Pro Duos? I would really want to buy one of the phones. Didn't deceide yet, which of the 2. Any recommendations?
I hope they will be available on the European market. I know a worldwide release is planned, but I didn't read about any dates or distribution channels.
These 2 phones will arguably be the best dual sim android smartphones. The relatively small resolution seems to be the only drawback.
Is there any dual sim android phone which is superior in your opinion?
One alternative, although probably more expensive, would be the Motorola XT532. Here's a comparison between the 2 phones. There it is stated that the Motorola phone uses HSDPA 850 / 2100 and the Samsung phone HSDPA 900 / 2100. Does this mean that the XT532 doesn't work (well) in Europe and the Galaxy Y Duos doesn't work well in the US?
If someone already owns the XT532, where did you get it from?
I am thankful for any replies!

Hi,
My operator (Proximus in Belgium) operates under GSM 900/1800 (2G GSM) net and W-CDMA 2100 (3G UTMS) frequencies.
No issues for me with eighter of these phones since 2100 is supported by both.
Regards

motorola xt532 have a higher ram (512mb) than Samsung Galaxy Y duos (384mb), 5mpx camera (moto) vs 3.15 mpx (Samsung), screen 3.5" HVGA (moto) vs 3.12" QVGA (Samsung)... i think are important difference....

The XT532 indeed looks good. Does anyone of you own this phone?
How about the full google market/gmail compatibility which was doubted somewhere above?
What would be the most reliable source of availability (including full warranty coverage) right now?

the only forum user i know is biibuu who bought the XT532 in China. I and Pwel are waiting for the phone , bought by ebay seller in Taiwan.

i prefer ebay, but some other e-commerce sites sell the phone. Warranty is valid only in the country where the phone is sold, with some exception decided by Motorola.

Did you buy it from "Yupitek International Ltd" (ebay account: "wifigadget88")?
No matter from where, please let me know your experiences after having received the phone.

yes, this is the seller. Ok for experience hoping to have soon my XT532.
Maybe, there is a time to move from my FET T8888, working well by now, but the battery life is relativelly poor when using 3G, wifi service . May be that is because i measured with Battery Monitor Widget Pro really different capacity then declared (1850 mAh), maybe..? But android itself is the CONSUMER, thats true.
Tip for the T8888: the modded ROM v1.20 is out. It is a lot better then v1.07/1.08. But don't forget to remove the test apps for lower energy usage, and change your "Wi-fi sleep policy" to not let it crash.
Another way to get more out of your battery is to use Tasker and APNdroid. APNdroid can turn your 3G on and off. Tasker can automatically enable 3G for you using APNdroid when you run certain programs, and shut it down after using it. This way you can make your Android save a lot of energy.

Thanks for the link, never heard of this company.. Could you please keep us informed, I would like to get this phone and use it in the Netherlands with my private (KPN, GSM & 3G) and work (Vodafone, GSM only) SIMS.
They are already posted although they might still be in "Pre-Order" state. Although these phones are already out it seemed like ZTE U960 is still better (bigger screen). I wonder where did polvo bought his and how much???

Hi thanx for your linx - I will check them, there is may be a little misunderstanding, I am looking forward for KimDK`s review of ZTE U960 (specs look fine), I am now quite happy owner of FET T8888, but everything is developing so fast... KimDK is a buyer. Nice day to all.
Does anyone use or is it possible to have a dual sim phone, where one sim is for text & voice and the other sim as a dongle. Is it relatively straight forward? Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction.

I just bought the XT532, when i'm talking using phone number 1, i can't receive calls from phone number 2. Phone number 2 is automatically disabled. It's a limitation with this phone? I thought this was Dual Sim Dual Active?!
I currently have the B7722 where i can be talking on phone number 1 and also receive calls from phone number 2.

On android a real dual sim are quite rare, only the old DSTL1 was dual sim active, all another android dual sim are standby and works as you explain.
I don't confirm this notice, but the new ZTE U960 have two antennas and will be a dual sim active with a features really interesting.
At the forum we somepeople expecting who buy this phone and write a review.
i read in several forums (and in chinese e-commerce sites) that ZTE U960 is DSDS not DSFA.
I dont think that's the case.
The two antenna of U960 can be simultaneously active. In the traditional Dual Sim Dual Standby phones, only one line can be active though both lines are standby.
The practical illustration is if line 1 can be used to call through line 2 on the same phone. This is the case for U960 according to the demo I have seen.
so from what I have read so far, I believe U960 is a DSFA device. But I don't have the phone so can't be 100% sure.
The restrictions in this phone from what i read about are the following:
1) the phone is supposed to be dual 3G in TD-SCDMA + WCDMA. but TD is only supported in China and WCDMA is most of the world. the talks in Chinese forum are mainly around the fact that the WCDMA in U960 is effectively useless for domestic user, whereas it will be the other way round for anyone outside China. Not really a problem in my view, given that I dont really expect any scenario where I need to have 3G are both sim enabled at the same time.
2) the phone is custom made for Chinese Market, so no Google Apps comes with the phone as stock. This is a problem as basic feature such as google contact, calendar, gmail will be unavailable.

I don' t think there would be many buyers ready to pay $1500 just for a dual SIM phone ..
Hi Kingcedz, thanks for posting your experience to date.
I'm also trying to fix my phone!
I purchased it from Etowalk, and while they since sent me a file to flash to the phone to fix the O2 & Vodafone GSM signal for Republic of Ireland (which it did to their credit, i'm now running A60_S171_111025), but I can't get root on the phone (remove unwanted apps or install new apps)
I followed that link you posted, and it directs me to two links, one is a recovery file, the other I believe is the full file.
I saved the zip file to my hard drive, and when i tried to flash the file, it said there were files missing. ( even repeated downloads gave me the message that there were files missing).
If you wouldn't mind, could you go through in details, how you flashed the phone via the recovery file. tks
Yes, I have since got the Etowalk software flashed to the phone (thanks to these instructions Lenovo A60 videoinstructions_en - YouTube),
now the phone works as good as my HTC Desire (Etowalk have given me root, the google market, much improved GSM signal, in fact everything i had on the HTC Desire) except of course I now have a dual sim.
Very happy with LePhone
thanks to all those on this forum that recommended NOT going with Ebay and purchasing from Etowalk where after sales support could be sought. Definitely a wise decision for me, even if I did need additional help from a video on youtube!

I bought it in China, it is avilable in the shops.
I see this opinion in gmsarena
I just bought the XT532 it's 99% perfect, but when i'm talking on line 1, line 2 automatically stops working (i.e. i cannot receive calls on line 2).
On my Samsung B7722, i can talk on line 1 and also receive calls from line 2.
Is it a setting problem or limitation of this phone?
What´s your opinion biibuu?
Can you receive incoming calls by the two Sims at the same time?

Can somebody confirm if the line 2 is not active during call on line 1 for Motorola XT532 ? Thank you. This is the most important feature for me.

I m very sure that is the case. that's what Dual Sim Dual Standby mean.
In fact, other than ZTE U960, I m not aware of another properly made Android dual GSM phone that's capable of that.
ZTE U960 can do that from what I gathered, but i dont have the physical phones to confirm such feature.
Otherwise, the Dual Sim (GSM + CDMA2000) high specs phones from China are capable of this. As I have pointed in the past, unfortunately CDMA are pretty much useless for most of the world.
The two antenna of U960 can be simultaneously active. In the traditional Dual Sim Dual Standby phones, only one line can be active though both lines are standby.

Re: Motorola XT-532
I don't care about whether it's DSDS/DSFA, but I can confirm that for XT-532:
1) it's not possible to be talking on line 1 and also receive calls from line 2. (i tried the test kengcedz suggested, calling line 1 with line 2. The phone is engaged).
I went to Moto customer service. They confirmed only one line can be active during a call. They gave me a stupid example of a hot and cold water tap. Both hot water and cold water can be readily usable, but the tap can only discharge either hot or cold water only.
2) Maybe other XT-532 users can confirm. When calling using line 1, line 2 will be disabled. A stop sign (similar to a no smoking sign) will appear above the line 2 reception bar.
When you're talking on line 1 already, if a person calls line 1 (line is engaged or if you have call waiting, you can pick up of course) but if a person calls line 2, the caller will receive an out of service/coverage reply.
This defeats the purpose of having a dual sim, i'm better of with two phones. When i'm on a private call, no one can call my work mobile number. Call waiting would only work if my boss calls my private number. If he calls my office mobile, it would be out of service and i would never know he called~! (For this reason i'm sticking to my old non-android B7722 for now).
3) With my old Samsung B7722, using line 1 i CAN call line 2.
4) But if it's not important for both lines to be simultaneously active during calls then this phone is great. I.e. going up to Milan to Lugano.
