Default Unrooting superonclick so I can update?

I have 2.2 running and rooted using superoneclick 2.1.1

Now I want to update my phone to 2.2.3 or whatever the new cool one is, problem is that when I "unroot" my phone using super one click, then try and reflash the phone, and then DL and install the update, it always fails.

right now as I type superoneclick is hung at #4 "rooting device" and has been hung for a few min. I am trying to deploy this same to 3 other units on my phone plan. I rooted them all, and installed the same software, so this issue is not only on one phone, its on all 3.

Am i missing a step somewhere?

ty for the reply.
