Default CyanogenMod for D2G

I have a rooted D2G. I'm looking to install my first ROM. I was looking at Cyanogen (CM4DX-GB 20120117.zip is what I've downloaded).

I have Rom Manager, Clockwork Recovery(dx 2nd init), and D2 bootstrap recovery all installed, all with su permissions.

First, how do I make a nandroid backup? Where does it get saved to?
Second, I have a titanium backup already, ran d2 bootstrap(it said it was successful). Where is the bootstrap recovery image located?
Third, which of the backups is better and which should I use if something goes wrong?

Fourth, I'm having issues with RM on the D2G. I've read I should boot into recovery manually. How do I do this, how do I flash the zip file mentioned above, and how do I revert the flash if I don't like that ROM?

Tons of questions, but this is all from my phone. I don't have internet on my pc atm so going from site to site getting answers here and there is becoming annoying and confusing. Everything in one spot would be great.

Hi,

Experienced D1 user with a newly rooted D2G, so here goes what I know.

1. With D2 bootstapper, boot to recovery, this will reboot you to clockwork recovery.

2. navigate to the backup/restore menu; up/down volume, camera = select, = power = back

3. backup is on sd card under clockworkmod folder

4. download the chosen rom zip and copy to sd card...with usb cable I how I do it.

5. when booted into clockwork recovery, choose install from zip and navigate to desired zip. after it's installed, reboot.

6. even though some roms don't mention this, seems to be best to wipe everything you can in the clockwork recovery menu...cache, dalvik cache, etc.

7. if you don't like the current rom, restore your backup in the same clockwork recovery menu.

hope this helps to get your started.
