I know there are a kabillion threads about this but none as simple as I am about to make it. I want my phone to vibrate while reciving a text in silent mode but not vibrate while receiving a text when sound is on. It currently vibrates all the time. Is this possible?


I never use silent mode and could careless about the whole volume rocker debocale. I would just like to actually be alerted when a text comes in silent mode. I'm assuming vibrate mode in 2.1 did just that?

I don't know about the stock messaging app, but with handcent you can set it to only vibrate when in silent mode.

I am trying to figure the same thing out. I have read multiple form posts and replys and none of them do what I was expecting. When I have set the notification to vibrate only in silent mode then set the text message notification to vibrate it works when the phone is in silent mode but also vibrates when the volume is turned up.
