Sad Keyboard backlight

Can anyone recommend an app or some fix that could make my keyboard light up upon being slid out (as it's supposed to do)? I've tried Keyboard Backlite On and Dark Keys from the Market, but neither of them lit the keyboard. I read about Power Control, but that app is no longer being supported. I've also toggled auto brightness on and off in settings. A reboot does make the light come back temporarily, but I'd like a way to be able to control my keyboard light without rebooting.

Thank you.

Currently it's a bug related to the Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 leak for Droid 2. Expect it to be fixed in the official OTA release

It is. I'm hoping some nice dev would be willing to write an app specifically for the keyboard backlight.
